ACADEMY MATCH REPORT | HULL FC (H)

Bradford Bulls Academy produced an impressive second-half fightback but fell to a 26-22 defeat against Hull FC at Bartercard Odsal Stadium last night.

After a stop-start opening to the game that saw a large number of penalties awarded, the visitors would open the scoring, taking advantage of a temporary numerical disadvantage for Bradford.

The Hull lead was extended soon after when a neat drop of the shoulder created a gap with hooker Will Hutchinson darting through.

After a sustained period of pressure, Glenn Morrison’s side would get on the scoreboard courtesy of Alfie Leake’s powerful effort from close range.

But the Aerlie Birds would restore their two-try advantage before the break, with Lennon Clark going over in the left corner.

A quickfire double at the start of the second half saw Hull hold a 26-6 lead before a Bradford onslaught.

Loanee Daniel Regan bagged a brace in back-to-back sets for the Bulls, with two strong carries on the left edge.

Freddie Butler then crashed over under the posts to set up a tense finale with the Young Bulls within just one score of the visitors, but Hull held firm to take the spoils.
